I’m doing this creative writing project for class which is due Tuesday and I really need to write, but I am feeling terribly uncreative right now.
So, what I ask of you, wonderful people, is to give me you techniques to start writing.
What secret ways do you have up your sleeve?
Pretty please?
Find a song that fits the atmosphere you want to create. Listen to it several times. Hopefully, you can create a picture or scene of something while listening to it. As for wording it, don’t be afraid to start from the middle, or even the end. You don’t need to go in order. Whatever comes to you first, write it down.
If that doesn’t work, find an object. Any object. It can be a rug even. Use that as a detail in your story and create a scene around it. If the rug you’re looking at has a stain, you can write about how it got that stain. (It doesn’t have to be the truth. Also, I don’t know what you have to write.)
You can describe the color, and texture and such. I know that it helps me when I start with details and then incorporate them into a scene. Then, add dialogue and so on.
I hope I helped, Rable!

“You come to me on the day of the Season 3 premiere of Sherlock, asking me for Johnlock? This, I cannot do.”
I like how the first thing Moffat does when he wins his BAFTA is his evil laugh.
Not reallyApologizing now for the BAFTArantingspam, we will return to our regularly scheduled postsas soon as I stop being angrynext weekvery soon!
Precisely. Thank you.Quick note to all the people who are popping up in angst; the Sherlock fandom isn’t unhappy Dominic won Best Actor at the BAFTAs, they - including myself - are unhappy that Benedict didn’t - the two are not mutually exclusive.
Yeah. I’m sure he’s very good.
